Lottery: One $228 million Powerball winner; Florida Lotto rolls over
Well, the Powerball jackpot is gone, but Florida Lotto is still there for the taking.
Powerball officials said one person in Minnesota bought a ticket that's worth $228.9 million from Wednesday night's drawing. The numbers: 11-18-36-41-46, with a Powerball of 38.
The Florida Lotto numbers drawn Wednesday night: 8-36-46-47-48-52. The jackpot grows to $38 million for Saturday night's drawing. It hasn’t hit since May 28, when a Hollywood man won $35 million.
Powerball was officially listed at $220 million during the day Wednesday but late sales hiked that to $228.9 million by the time balls were pulled out Wednesday night (anybody in a Publix on Wednesday could see the lines of people buying tickets).
I play only a little bit of the lotteries, so I'd like to hear from the steady players: Now that Powerball's run-up is over, are you switching over to buy Florida Lotto tickets?
